Leah Monty

Leah oversees our Volunteer and Community Programs and assists with planning shelter events.

Leah began at ARLNH as a volunteer in high school, cleaning cat cages with her mom on the weekends and fostering kittens.  She especially enjoyed working with the sick cats with URI (upper respiratory infections) and seeing them grow stronger and healthier each week. 

After graduating high school, Leah jumped at the opportunity to join the ARL staff as a member of the Animal Care team.  After a hiatus to travel and start a pet-sitting business, she returned in 2019 to work in the Animal Intake department.  In 2021, Leah took on the role of Community Engagement, enthusiastic about the opportunity to interact with the community, informing on animal welfare and our organization’s mission.

In her spare time, Leah enjoys cooking, hiking, rock climbing, and spending time with her senior dachshund, Khloe who was adopted from ARLNH!
