 Is Your Cat a Star? (Photo Contest July 1 - Aug 31)
Author Kathy Brodsky (see illustration from her book Just Sniffing Around at the left) is conducting a contest to find the star of her upcoming cat book Purrsnikitty. With every three photos of your cat entered into this contest, you are asked to make a $5 donation to the League. You may submit as many photos as you would like. The contest runs from July 1st through August 31st. To submit your photos go to: www.helpingwords.com/cats.htm. The winning cat will be chosen by the book's award-winning illustrator, Cameron Bennett and announced on the web site, www.helpingwords.com on September 8th.  Felinology 101 Seminar: Sunday, July 19th, 3-5pm
Felinology 101 is described by Dr. Anne Richards as "Everything you wanted to know about your cat and were afraid to ask." On Sunday, July 19th the League will host a free seminar from 3-5pm on everything cat. Join Dr. Anne Richards of the Cat Doctors of Bedford and Nashua for vaccine and nutritional information, behavior and litter box advice and to learn more about cats.  It's Raining Cats! Kitten Shower Saturday, July 25th, 12-5pm
Join us at the League for our annual Kitten Shower, scheduled for Saturday, July 25th from 12-5. Speak with one of the League's foster families, meet kittens of all ages and learn about kitten development and behavior, enjoy our bake sale, check out the great raffle items and possibly adopt a kitten on that day! Each attendee will receive a favor and we ask that you consider bringing a "shower gift" for our four-legged babies. Current needs are: clay cat litter and dry and canned kitten food.  Advanced Allergy Treatment Centers of New England: Thursday, August 27th, 7pm
Dr. Holly Ruocco of Advanced Allergy Treatment Centers of New England will be donating $25 to the League for every first-time client that is referred by the League. The Allergy Treatment Center, which is located at 202 Main Street, Suite G-2 in Salem, NH is using a procedure called Advanced Allergy Therapeutics which is a non-invasive way to combat sensitivities or allergies in people. The procedure, which is painless, uses digital signals to discover which allergen is bothering a person, then uses gentle pressure points to alter the perception of the body. Please join us on Saturday, September 19th at our new venue for the annual Pet Step; the Hillsborough County 4-H Center in New Boston (also known as the New Boston Fairgrounds).
